PGF Wrap-up & GameCloud Interview

IMAG0495Perth Games Festival 2015 has now been and gone, so I thought I’d do a quick wrap-up and post some pics. I also did an interview with GameCloud which you can read here. And for a much more detailed report on PGF 2015, check out GameCloud’s article here.

It was definitely an awesome day and quite a lot of people turned up! I’m not sure of the final number, but I know that it was a lot more than last year.

There was a steady stream of people playing Final Days for the entire day. Some people even came back more than once to play again, which felt really good to see!

(A lot of people asked when Final Days will be available, so if you’d like to be notified via e-mail when it’s is released then you can subscribe here. I will be releasing an alpha demo version within a month or so.)

It was quite a hectic and busy day, so unfortunately I didn’t really get a chance to check out any other games. But overall it was an awesome experience and Final Days got a great response!

A massive thank you goes to the Let’s Make Games crew for all their hard work in putting this together! Also thanks to all the other organisers, volunteers, and sponsors who helped make it all happen!

Of course I can’t forget to thank my mates who helped me run the booth – Grae, Cris, Damien, and in particular Bart and Jared who also helped me heaps with sourcing equipment and putting everything together! I wouldn’t have been able to pull it off without them!

And thanks to everyone that stopped by and checked out Final Days. I hope you enjoyed it! 🙂

Final Days now has a dev log on TIGSource

I’ve just started a dev log for Final Days on the TIGSource Forums. So if you’d like to find out a little more about the development of Final Days, please check it out and feel free to ask questions or comment.

Also, if you want to keep up to date with Final Days, be sure to follow +7 Software on Twitter for the very latest news and info.

Final Days is now on Indie DB

Final DaysJust a quick post to say that Final Days is now on Indie DB. I’ve posted a bunch of info and screenshots there (and I’ve also updated this site with more info on Final Days).

I will be using Indie DB for posting major news about Final Days, videos, and screenshots. So you can use Indie DB’s “track game” feature as yet another method for staying up to date with Final Days.

New alpha gameplay video

Another few months already? Time for another gameplay video then!

As you can probably see, Final Days is looking a little more polished than the last video. There’s been a lot of progress over the past few months and it’s getting ever closer to being releasable! It has now also moved out of the “pre-alpha” stage and into the “alpha” stage, which means I will start publicising things a little more and opening up testing to more people.

If you’re interested in possibly doing some testing on Final Days, you can start by following +7 Software on Twitter (@plus7software) to keep up to date with what’s happening. There are still a few things I need to prepare, but I should be allowing some more people into the testing group shortly. Stay tuned!

First Gameplay Video

Well, again it’s been a few months since the last progress update on Final Days. So it’s about time for another one!

There’s been a lot of development and testing on Final Days over these past few months. Most of the basic gameplay elements are in place now, and the multiplayer networking is now pretty solid and smooth.

Rather than writing about it, I thought the best way to show the game in it’s current state is with a gameplay video. It’s obviously still in a very early stage and there’s a lot more work to do, but it’s definitely getting there! Hope you enjoy the video!

Progress Update

It’s been a few months now since everything kicked off, so it’s about time for a progress update!

We have been making some great progress on our first game, “Final Days”. The first pre-alpha test version was released last week to a small group of testers who have already been providing some great feedback! Testing so far has gone quite smoothly, and there have been no major issues as of yet (touch wood!).

Final Days is still a long way from being complete. There are still a LOT of features we want to add. But it’s slowly starting to take shape, and hopefully everything will continue to progress well.

For now the testing group is invite only. But eventually we should get to the point where we can expand the testing group to include more people. Until then, keep on eye on this site for further updates.
